Alumni Week Q&A

What is your fondest memory from U of G?

So many to choose from! Enjoying good times with friends in a variety of ways including dancing the night away at the Bullring, sipping a cold beverage at The Brass Taps, playing squash and other sports at the Athletics Centre and of course, painting the cannon!

What values did U of G instill in you that you carry to this day?

How to accept and appreciate others; the importance of self-discipline, work/life balance, and friendships. Proud to say that I remain close friends today with several women from my U of G days 40 years ago including Heather Parsons, Barb Morris, Cathy Howell, Marie Hewitt, Leona Haley, and Kelly Campbell.

What is one piece of advice you want to give to current and future U of G students?

How about two? The first piece of advice is an adage that still sticks with me today and that’s “Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” My second piece of advice is to set high standards for yourself in all aspects (personal, academics, athletics, etc.) and do you best to live up to them.

What are you most excited about this Alumni Week?

I am most excited to connect (virtually) with classmates and friends, many of whom I have not seen for a long time!
