Alumni Week Q&A

What is your fondest memory from U of G?

I came to the U of G from a small village in Southwestern Ontario. At U of G, my eyes were opened for the first time to a larger world and to the potential for national and international travel and education. But certainly, most importantly I met lifelong friends at the university and most particularly I met and fell in love with my wife

What values did U of G instill in you that you carry to this day?

At Guelph, I started to learn about diversity and inclusion. I also learned the importance of hard work and commitment. Lastly, I learned that through hard work and commitment success can be acheived.

What is one piece of advice you want to give to current and future U of G students?

For me, U of G could be scary but the one piece of advice I would give is to not be afraid to ask questions and to ask for help. My professors were excellent and when I needed help there were there for me. It is what makes the university so special the focus on the individual and their potential.

What does Alumni Week mean to you?

Alumni Week brings back a flood of great memories of friends and experiences at the U of G. It provides a convenient chance to recall in my mind’s eye great warm afternoons on the quad and long hours in the library. Mostly it helps ground me as I reflect on that time of profound learning
