Why do you choose to stay connected to U of G?

The University of Guelph will always hold a special place in my heart. As a first year student, I came to Guelph suffering from a serious social anxiety disorder which required medication. I was worried that the University experience would be too much for me and was unsure what to expect. When I arrived at U of G, I met so many amazing people who supported and encouraged me. My anxiety became manageable and I was able to accomplish so much more than I ever dreamed. I became involved with Interhall Council, The Peer Helper Program, Trick or Eat and several other programs during my time at U of G. I truly believe that the staff, faculty and students helped me become the person I am today. My University experience was a major turning point in my life and it is important for me to stay connected and give back to the community and family who supported me.

What makes you most proud to be a Gryphon?

I am always so amazed at the relentless positivity surrounding the University of Guelph. With the ground breaking research, philanthropic efforts and community engagement, Gryphons of all ages continue to remind me why U of G is such a special place.

What's your favourite part of being on the UGAA board?

My favourite part of being on the UGAA board is being able to advocate for alumni while continuing to learn about new initiatives at the University. I hope that through our efforts more alumni will engage with us as we continue to develop new ways for alumni to stay connected.
