Are you ready to take the Grand Home Tour?! The College of Arts welcomes Kevin James, Scottish Studies Foundation Chair.
Date: 9 Novemeber 2021
Time: 12 pm - 1 pm EDT
Location: Online Webinar
At a time when many of us are confined to armchair travels, Kevin takes us on a journey through Scotland and through time as we explore popular routes and travel practices on the nineteenth-century Scottish tour. Then as now, Scotland’s landscapes and people captured the popular imagination and motivated travellers from throughout Britain and beyond to visit the country. We will explore the most popular routes and sights as we ask what helped to make Scotland an enduring place of interest for generations of travellers.
Kevin James has been a member of the Department of History since 2000. He holds the Scottish Studies Foundation Chair, directs the Centre for Scottish Studies, and teaches and advises students exploring many dimensions of modern Scottish history, especially nineteenth-century travel cultures
