The Grand Home Tour: Travelling through Scotland in the Nineteenth Century

Are you ready to take the Grand Home Tour?! The College of Arts welcomes Kevin James, Scottish Studies Foundation Chair.

  Date: 9 Novemeber 2021
  Time: 12 pm - 1 pm EDT
  Location: Online Webinar
  Price: Free

At a time when many of us are confined to armchair travels, Kevin takes us on a journey through Scotland and through time as we explore popular routes and travel practices on the nineteenth-century Scottish tour. Then as now, Scotland’s landscapes and people captured the popular imagination and motivated travellers from throughout Britain and beyond to visit the country. We will explore the most popular routes and sights as we ask what helped to make Scotland an enduring place of interest for generations of travellers.
