Sheri graduated from the University of Guelph in 2000 with a BA in Psychology. During her time at Guelph, she was an active volunteer at Raithby House, the campus drop-in and after hours telephone student support network. After graduation Sheri pursued a career in Public Relations, and landed her first job through a University of Guelph Agricultural Communications connection with Fleishman-Hillard Canada, one of the country’s largest full-service agencies.
Over the next 15+ years, Sheri built a well-rounded communications career with progressive marketing communications, media relations, corporate and employee communications experience. Sheri earned her Accredited Business Communicator designation from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in 2010.
Her first seven years in communications were in PR agency roles consulting with some of the world's best known brands including PepsiCo Canada, Frito Lay Canada, Marriott Hotels, McCain Foods, Swiss Chalet and Sony PlayStation, to name only a select few. In this role Sheri conceived and led a number of award-winning national media relations campaigns, and provided strategic counsel to client executives.
In 2007 Sheri’s PepsiCo client invited her to join the company to lead internal communications and community relations. Over the past nine years Sheri has grown the size and scope of her team and now leads internal communications, president's office communications, corporate and brand PR and the company's national community relations/charitable giving strategy. In this role, Sheri consults with executives across all functions of the organization, and leads all crisis as company spokesperson.
Sheri lives in Milton with her husband Barry (BA Management Economics 2000) and their sons Noah and Liam. She’s excited to be a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors and have an opportunity to give back to the place who gave her a strong start to her successful career.
