Over a period of 10 years, the Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics (FARE) will invite leading executives/entrepreneurs from the agri-food sector to campus to work in collaboration with faculty and enhance the student experience. Our goal is to raise $250,000.
There has been immense success with programs of this kind at the University of Guelph and other institutions. Not only have “executives-in-residence” programs had a positive and profound impact on students; many have resulted in collaborations that have had local, provincial, national and global impact.
By providing FARE students’ access to executives/entrepreneurs in the agri-food industry, their passion can ignite their future. Through interactions with these executives/entrepreneurs, it is hoped our students will gain a better appreciation of the importance of entrepreneurship in the food and agricultural business space.
This initiative will enable students and faculty to interact with, be inspired by, and learn from notable agribusiness professionals to gain a better appreciation of the importance of entrepreneurship in the food and agricultural field.
