Dwight E. Greer
B.Sc (Agr.) '72
For over 36 years, Dwight has been tireless in his dedication as a volunteer for the University of Guelph and the Ontario Agricultural College. His involvement began as Chair for both the OAC Alumni Golf Tournament and the OAC Curling Bonspiel, and naturally transitioned into various executive volunteer roles. Dwight has served as Chair of the OAC Alumni Association, Chair of the OAC Alumni Foundation, Secretary Treasurer of the OAC Alumni Foundation, and Chair of the OAC Foundation Donor Stewardship Committee.
Dwight generously has co-chaired several OAC’71/’72 fundraising activities – the OAC'71/'72 Graduate Scholarship in Sustainable Food Production, the OAC'71/72 Guelph Turfgrass Institute Relocation Project, and their 30th Anniversary project in support of the Bio-Products Discovery and Development Centre (previously called the Bio-Products Discovery and Computing Centre), which is one of his proudest achievements.
Since graduating in 1972 from the Ontario Agriculture College, Dwight has always been counted on to attend college events, enthusiastically providing students the opportunity to discuss the agriculture and food industry, and offering advice and mentorship at career nights and awards ceremonies.
He has and continues to play a major role within the College organization. He guides decision-making to positively reflect on the current and future work of the OAC Alumni Foundation, always with the best interest of students – future alumni – at heart. He serves as a role model to us all, serving to better our community with humility.
The University of Guelph is proud to call Dwight Greer an alumnus, and forever grateful for his support, leadership and dedication to improving life at the University of Guelph and beyond.
