All alumni are members of the University of Guelph Alumni Association (UGAA) upon graduation. There are no membership fees for the UGAA. The alumni card allows you alumni privileges at the library and discounted athletics membership at the Athletics Centre as well as any discounts and special promotions found on our Services & Benefits page. To obtain your card, please fill out our Alumni Card Request form or contact our Reception desk at 519-824-4120 ext. 56934.
Keep your address up to date so you'll receive the Portico, college newsletters, invitations to local events, and information on services and benefits for alumni. Pass on your e-mail address to receive our alumni e-news each month. Fill out our Update Your Information Form or call 519-824-4120 ext. 56934.
Due to recent privacy laws, members of the University are not able to communicate your student number (whether you are a current or former student) over phone, fax, or email without thoroughly verifying your identity. Learn more about the retrieval process.
You can connect with U of G alumni on Facebook and LinkedIn. Please note you must "like" the Facebook page before you can post on it. We can also help you track down alumni you've lost touch with. Send us the name of the grad you wish to track down, along with estimated grad year, program, or last known city. If we have active contact information for the alumnus we will get in touch with them and pass on your contact information for them to get in touch with you directly. E-mail us at

You can make your year-end gift a number of ways, even after the University closes for the holidays.

  • By mail: Gifts mailed and post-marked prior to or on December 31 will be processed for the current tax year.
  • Online: Online donations can be made on our website using the online form.
  • In person: Cheques can be dropped off in the secure mail slot at Alumni House, or can be dropped off with Campus Security Services on Trent Lane.

All online or dropped-off gifts must be received by midnight December 31. Thank you very much for your support.

From time to time we hold alumni events outside of Guelph, including Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Port Charlotte, Chicago, Ottawa, and Toronto. Activities have included student send-offs, where recent grads talk to incoming students about life at Guelph, as well as social events and business networking opportunities. Dates for upcoming activities are always posted on our Events Listing page and invitations are usually sent out to local grads through a mailed invitation or e-mail. Convocation is held on campus three times a year, in February, June, and October. For more information, visit the convocation website.
While on campus for alumni business, such as volunteering for the University or planning a reunion, alumni can park for free in reserved parking in front of Alumni House. You must stop by Alumni House first and register your license plate number with reception.
There is a fee for copies of your transcript as well as fees associated with preferred method of delivery (ie courier, fax, etc.). Contact Undergraduate Program Services - Academic Programs in the University Centre, Level 3 or call 519-824-4120 ext. 58724. Email accounts are maintained for alumni for approximately one year after graduation. You will receive ample notification from CCS before it expires.

University of Guelph academic regalia is available through Harcourt Robemakers. All inquiries concerning convocation gowns or hoods for purchase are to be directed to:

If you are doing a genealogy search on a member of your family we may be able to help you determine graduation year. We have copies of a number of yearbooks and you may also want to visit the archives at the library.

Alumni Affairs assists classes, teams, and clubs in organizing reunions. We can help you get in touch with your group through a newsletter and promotion in the Portico. Many classes choose to hold their reunion in June as part of one of the main events on Alumni Weekend and take advantage of the tours and other activities taking place on campus. If you wish to hold your reunion during Alumni Weekend we'll include your class activities in all our related advertising including the Alumni Weekend brochure.

We assist all reunion groups by promoting your activities and providing advice and suggestions. Where possible we can arrange a visit from a university representative, such as the dean of your college.
