A gift to the University of Guelph changes lives. It helps to develop tomorrow’s leaders in industry and science and propels athletes to the top of their game. It leads to breakthrough research and lights a spark in others to pursue a brighter world - every day. As a resource for infrastructure, fellowships, programming and scholarships, donated funds enhance accessibility and encourage excellence.

The University of Guelph is grateful to our donors for sharing our values and continuing to be an important member of our shared community: a community committed to a better world and a better tomorrow.

In 1999, to mark the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Ontario Agricultural College, the OAC Alumni Foundation established the unique Order of OAC. The Order provides the opportunity to enrich teaching and study of agriculture, food production, the environment, the community and rural development. The members of the Order of OAC are alumni and friends of the College who have donated $100,000 or more, as bequests, irrevocable insurance policies, planned gifts or cash donations, for endowment or expendable purposes within the Ontario Agricultural College or the OAC Alumni Foundation.

List of members of the Order of OAC

Members of The President’s Council include alumni and friends with annual giving of $1,000 or more received from May 1 through April 30. As a member of the University of Guelph President’s Council, you will receive invitations to attend special events, news and various University publications. You will also be invited to join us at the annual President’s Open House held in the fall, an event that has become a popular tradition on campus each year.

The University of Guelph is pleased to have on record confirmed planned gifts from alumni and friends totaling over $80 million. These legacy gifts will help ensure a strong future for education and research at the University of Guelph.

Legacy Gifts fund the work of our students, scholars and researchers. Last year, 36 benefactors made 40 gifts to the University of Guelph and its campuses, totaling $6 million through will bequests, insurance gifts, trust agreements and charitable annuities.

Thank you to our BetterPlanet Project donors!

In 2014, the University of Guelph concluded the BetterPlanet Project, a fundraising campaign to help accelerate solutions to global challenges in areas where the university of Guelph excels: food, environment, health, community, teaching and learning. In total, 65,374 donors, bound by a common passion and goal to help build a better planet, helped to exceed our goal in support of the University of Guelph. We are grateful to all donors for their participation and role in helping to build a better future.
