Doug Campbell, BA '88

Why do you choose to stay connected to U of G?

Time at university is an important transitional part of life and I have nothing but fond memories of that period. It was the foundation, both personally and professionally, from which the rest of my life was built. I stay connected to learn about the exciting initiatives other alumni are performing and to revel in the campus energy Ive always appreciated.

What makes you most proud to be a Gryphon?

I love the history and feel of U of G. The founding colleges reflect our historical past and the architecture mirrors that too. How many other campuses have barns and bullrings as physical central components? So it is the uniqueness of U of G, as well as its top tier status as a comprehensive university that has always made me proud. U of G always strives to outdo itself and not just rest on its laurels. Continuous improvements make a great university ever greater and thanks to its leaders, faculty, students and alumni, the University is ever improving its status as a top choice, both nationally and globally.

What's your favourite part of being on the UGAA board?

This is my way of staying connected and actively engaged with U of G. It is also a way to interact and engage with current and future alumni and support them in ways they hopefully find meaningful.

What’s your favourite Guelph tradition?
