W. Brian Little

Brian Little is a tireless volunteer with an unwavering commitment to the University of Guelph and the agricultural industry. With a 30-year career in agricultural banking and finance, and an extensive volunteer resume, Brian has dedicated countless hours to serve his alma mater, industry and community.

At U of G, Brian was Chair of Fundraising for the OAC Alumni Foundation and a member of the OAC Alumni Association. He was the lead volunteer in OAC’s Planning for Tomorrow research in 2011 and 2017. He is Governor of the Agricultural Institute of Canada Foundation (AICF) and Chair of the 4-H Ontario Foundation. Brian has served on many other boards and committees in support of the agriculture industry.

Brian received the Queen’s Jubilee Award in 2002 for volunteerism in Canada. He also received the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of Confederation of Canada 1992. He received the Canadian Farm Business Management Council Wilson Loree Award for development in excellence in farm business management in Canada in 2010. He has extensive involvement with 4-H at the national level serving as the National President of the Canadian 4-H Council in 1992-93 and the President of the Canadian 4-H Foundation from 1999-2001.

As a strong supporter of education and life-long learning, Brian also mentors students and young entrepreneurs to develop their leadership skills, competencies and careers.

Brian Little will be honoured at the UGAA Awards of Excellence Gala on June 9, 2017.
