Alumni Volunteer Award: Robin-Lee Norris

Robin-Lee Norris, BA'83

Robin-Lee is a tireless volunteer who has invested countless hours at the University of Guelph. She earned a BA in Sociology and Anthropology at U of G and attended Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. Robin-Lee is Associate Counsel in the national law firm Miller Thomson LLP, and is a highly skilled mediator who helps clients in areas of family business, and estate planning.

In 2009, the University awarded Robin-Lee Honorary Fellowship — one of the University’s highest honours granted by the Senate to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the life and development of the University.

She has served as both chair and member of the Board of Trustees, and vice-chair and member of the Board of Governors. Robin-Lee was also chair of the Arboretum Master Plan Steering Committee; first vice-chair and director of the University of Guelph Alumni Association (UGAA); chair of the Operational Plan Committee; member of the 50th Anniversary Planning Committee; member of the Presidential Review Committee; member of the Alumni Advocacy Council; and member of the College of Business and Economics Advisory Board.

Robin-Lee’s commitment to volunteerism continues well beyond the U of G campus. She has given her time and expertise to organizations such as the Grand River Conservation Foundation, Guelph Curling Club, Guelph Chamber of Commerce, Guelph Partnership for Innovation, Guelph General Hospital Foundation, and the Volunteer Centre of Guelph/ Wellington.

The University of Guelph is fortunate to have alumni like Robin-Lee, whose commitment and service are an inspiration to the community.

Robin-Lee Norris was honoured at the UGAA Awards of Excellence Gala on June 22, 2018.
