In Memory of Dr. Marcel Schlaf

Dr. Marcel Schlaf was a cherished member of the University of Guelph community and a dedicated faculty member in the Department of Chemistry. His passing is deeply felt by colleagues, students, and friends who were inspired by his intellect, generosity, and commitment to education.

Dr. Schlaf was known for his passion for teaching and mentorship, as well as for his thoughtful engagement with students at all stages of their academic journey. He believed strongly in the power of education to transform lives and took great pride in supporting students as they developed both academically and personally. His contributions to the University extended well beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting impact on the academic community he cared for so deeply.

The Marcel Schlaf Memorial Fund

Gifts made in memory of Dr. Marcel Schlaf will support the Marcel Schlaf Memorial Fund within the College of Computational, Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Guelph.

The intent of this fund is to establish a student scholarship in Chemistry that reflects Dr. Schlaf's dedication to learning, mentorship, and student success. While the full award criteria and structure are still being finalized, all donations will be directed toward supporting students and advancing the educational values that defined Dr. Schlaf's career.
