Leadership/Entrepreneurial Award: Wil Leung
Wil Leung is the Director of Culinary Operations for Ontario for the reputable casual-fine dining group Cactus Restaurants Ltd. After graduation from University of Guelph, Wil moved to Vancouver and joined the Cactus leadership team. With his experience of running flagship stores and opening new builds, Chef Wil moved back to Toronto in 2014 to open and operate new locations within the Ontario market. Since then, Chef Wil opened 3 restaurants, an Eastern Head Office, and has employed over 50 leaders and 750 staff. Currently, he oversees all Ontario culinary operations including leadership development, sales/profit initiatives, strategy planning, future builds and organizational culture. His greatest achievements include opening 8 restaurants across Canada and promoting 9 chefs in the organization. Wil is a passionate individual who thrives on challenges, education and growing future leaders. Wil is known for his ability to achieve results, attention to detail and strive for excellence – while trying to inject humour and fun into all aspects of his life.
