Calling all U of G Grads: Write a note of encouragement for students!

Letters in Residence

First-year students are on the brink of a defining moment - final exams. They might be grappling with uncertainty, stress, and doubt - we all remember that feeling. Please share your words of encouragement and we will deliver 5,000 postcards with alumni messages to students in residence (and beyond).

Craft a few sentences that can inspire and motivate. Your wisdom can help students face exam season feeling less alone. If you once called Residence home, reminisce about your favorite memories. Your nostalgia will resonate with current students, bridging the gap between generations. If you lived off-campus, we'll ensure that off-campus first-year students receive your supportive message. Let's create a ripple of inspiration that spans generations. Submit your words of encouragement today!

To make your letter as amazing as possible for the student you're supporting, please note the following guidelines:

  • Keep it concise; follow the word limits
  • Keep it appropriate; postcards should not include any content that could be offensive to students
  • Keep it accessible; limit use of inside jokes or references that students might not understand
