On the last weekend of June, over 1,100 University of Guelph (U of G) alumni returned to their old stomping grounds for U of G’s annual Alumni Reunion Weekend. Thirty-two reunion groups, from the classes of 1949 to 2011, gathered to celebrate. Special recognition went to the FACS, OAC, CBS, and CBS/HK '74 classes, who marked their 50th anniversary at the President's Milestone Lunch.
The year 2024 is special for U of G, with many groups across campus celebrating their legacies. The Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) and the Department of Chemistry are both commemorating 150 years of research and discovery. The Brass Taps (formerly The Keg) also celebrated its 50th anniversary with a cocktail party and live music.
The weekend was packed with activities, including campus tours where alumni could explore the OAC 150th Historical Walking Tour, enjoy the Ice Cream Technology Tour, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the Creative & Performing Arts at Guelph.
Celebrations continued with a BBQ bash for the OAC 150th, where alumni enjoyed a delicious buffet featuring local flavours. The U of G community, including notable government officials, gathered to honour OAC's legacy. The evening wrapped up with alumni dancing to live country music, capping off a weekend filled with tasty food, great company, and lasting memories.
Join us next year to reconnect with old friends and create new memories at Alumni Reunion Weekend 2025! #UofGAW25
