President's Farewell Message to Alumni

Dear U of G alumni,

It has been my honour and privilege to serve as President of the University of Guelph for the past six years. I am proud to consider myself part of the U of G alumni family. I am equally as proud of our incoming president Charlotte Yates, who I know cares deeply about our alumni.

As alumni, you are all ambassadors of the University and you make us proud in all that you do. Our alumni family is 174,000 strong and growing — from grads of our founding colleges, to 3,000 new convocates this spring — you are all part of the U of G story.

As I reflect upon my time at U of G, I am inspired by the talented and passionate members of our University community. Faculty, staff and, of course, alumni, are the ones who dream big and bring ideas to life.

I could not leave the president’s office without thanking you — alumni and friends —  for your support, commitment, and encouragement. May we meet again — but, until then, let’s take what is best about the University of Guelph and share it around the world.
