Talha Tariq, B Eng '21

Talha is excited to join the board and continue to serve the Guelph community by providing alumni valuable opportunities to connect and engaging in strategic planning to serve the interests of the alumni community as well as the university at large.

Talha graduated from the University of Guelph in 2021 with a B.Eng in Environmental Engineering and a minor in Business. During his time at Guelph, Talha was involved extensively in student government and had a particular focus on working with engineering students across Canada in advocating for improvements in teaching quality and improved efforts for diversity and equity within engineering programs. Since graduating, Talha has been working as a consultant in the climate space, utilizing his technical background to help companies meet their goals with respect to the energy transition by providing guidance and expertise in the areas of climate risk assessments, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Quantification and Carbon Pricing. In his spare time, he enjoys being in the outdoors, playing various sports or listening to his favourite nerdy podcasts. As a UGAA director, he is excited for the opportunity to continue to be involved in the Guelph community and have a positive impact on students and alumni.
