U of G Alumni and Donors Respond to Help Students

Posted: Apr 15, 2020

Like the rest of the world, the University of Guelph is grappling with COVID-19. Amidst all the uncertainty, stories of caring and resilience abound, and the U of G community has responded with kindness and generosity.

The need for physical distancing created extraordinary challenges for students left in Guelph. International students are isolated on campus and in need of support, while all students are struggling with the uncertainty of summer employment. The University appealed to alumni, staff, faculty, donors and friends to offer any support they could for urgent needs, such as stocking the student food bank, providing kitchen essentials to those stranded on campus, and arranging emergency bursary relief. As of April 15, 2020, the University raised $32,535 from more than 200 donors, to support our students in need.

Thank you to our donors — your support is appreciated.

Gifts to the University’s Highest Priority will continue to support students during this crisis.
