Planning for Tomorrow Campaign

OAC continues to look to the future, while honouring our past. We are grateful for our alumni and friends who support us through investment in our students and programs. OAC alumni remain very involved with the college, and we are always thrilled to see many of you return to campus to celebrate your milestones, reunions and special events.

We are investing in our growth through the Planning for Tomorrow Campaign. Our direction is clear— the demand for students with formal training in food and agriculture is growing and we are well positioned to answer this need.

The campaign is evolving to prepare students with the skills necessary to excel. Our comprehensive strategy is focused in three key areas — 1) invest in the OAC Student Liaison Program to attract students; 2) strengthen industry connections and student development with a Careers and Employment Manager; and 3) promote the opportunities available in the agriculture and food sectors to high school students.

Thanks to donor support, we have expanded our Student Liaison Program, showcasing professional opportunities in agriculture, food, environmental sciences and community development. To date, we have reached almost 10,000 high school students and 2,000 teachers and guidance counsellors through on-campus experiences, in-class workshops and online teaching resources. We know the OAC Student Liaison Program is having a positive impact on students — 60% of student attendees said their understanding of food and agriculture changed after their experience with the program, and 20% reported a new interest in careers in food and agriculture after their experience. The program is exclusively donor supported, and we are grateful for the opportunity to improve our programming and expand our reach across the province.

OAC has been working hard to raise support for our Planning for Tomorrow Campaign. We are thrilled to share that the Grand River Agricultural Society has generously commited to match each donation, up to $500,000! Please consider a gift to the campaign and help us increase student recruitment, enhance career readiness, and promote the importance of food and agriculture.
