When a wildfire forces thousands of people from their homes, it is hard to imagine how to repair the damages, let alone be the face of the recovery process. Erin O’Neill has taken on both of these responsibilities as the chief of planning after the May 2017 wildfires in Fort McMurray. Rebuilding Fort McMurray required Erin to bear bad news to families, recruit volunteers, and much more. Through Erin’s dedication and strength, she was able to provide thousands of people with a place to call home again.
